Sony Puts a Phone Display on Your Wrist
Welcome to a Laptop Battery specialist of the Sony Laptop Battery
You know how people who rudely check their phones every 42 seconds can drive you completely bonkers?
Thanks to Sony they won’t do that any longer. Instead they will drive you bonkers by checking their watches.
Sony’s SmartWatch links with a phone to show text messages, e-mails, photos and updates from your social networks on its face.
The watch can also be used to hit redial and control other functions, like the smartphone’s music player.
Oh — it also tells time.
There is clearly interest in this sort of device. A with battery like Sony PCG-TR1C Battery, Sony PCG-TR1MP Battery, Sony PCG-TR2 Battery, Sony PCG-V505 Battery, Sony PCG-XE Battery, Sony PCG-Z505 Battery, Sony VGN-CR21 Battery, Sony VGN-CR23 Battery proposal to produce a phone-connected watch called the Pebble didn’t raise the sought-after funding of $100,000 when it was posted on Kickstarter, the Web site that seeks investors for creative projects — it raised more than $10 million. The creators are indebted to deliver about 60,000 watches to investors.
The Sony version lacks the style of the Pebble. It is a simple 1.4-inch square with a glassy face and polished silver-colored bezel. The display screen measures 1.3 inches diagonally, well shy of an inch square, yet it’s oddly easy to read, except outdoors, where the sun can wash out the display.
Sony Xperia phones come ready to sync with the watch (natch), but because the watch uses the Android platform, some other Android phones can connect once the LiveWare app is downloaded. But it doesn’t connect with as many as I would like — not one of the five I had on hand made the list of about 20 phones (other than Sony’s) that link with the device. With the right phone and software the SmartWatch pairs much like any Bluetooth device.
When a call or message comes in, the phone vibrates and wakes the screen, which stays lit for 15 seconds. Incoming calls showed the number and name if the person was in my contact list. Messages just came in as a blue icon, though.
The watch requires a phone to work. On the occasions when I lost a connection, even the clock went to 00:00. I didn’t get anything close to the advertised four-day running time for the watch’s battery, but it didn’t matter; the Xperia Ray phone it connected to conked out long before the watch.
So far there aren’t a lot of apps available for the phone and to find them you are consigned to the fifth circle of Google Play (the torture formerly known as the Android Market). Look under “Sony Smart Extras” to improve your results. I found about 20 apps.
The watch has a clip on the back, much like an older iPod Shuffle, so it can be clipped to clothing or to the interchangeable watchbands Sony sells for $20 each. The watch lists for $150 from Sony, which plans to ship it this week.

Competition for Lithium Battery

Recommend:http://www.e-batteries.co.uk/laptop_battery/toshiba/pabas100.htm

Competition for Lithium Battery
Welcome to a Laptop Battery specialist of the Toshiba Laptop Battery
targeting more than 10 percent of the rechargeable battery market share in five years, with an ambitious eye for a considerable distribution of the surging but highly competitive sector.
Toshiba’s strategy to help boost the company’s growth and weather the impact of volatile prices for chips is focused on the international appetite for batteries to power hybrid, plug-in hybrid and electric vehicles. Toshiba has made the business one of its focus areas but increasing demand is also making competition fiercer, with Toshiba and its Japanese peers, including current leader6 Sanyo Electric Co7 (TYO:67648), NEC and Hitachi, facing South Korea’s LG Chem9 and other rising rivals around the world.
“We would like to expand our business with the hope of securing a more than 10 percent share (of the global lithium-ion battery market),” Toshiba chief executive Norio Sasaki said at a news conference held in Kashiwazaki, northern Japan, to celebrate the completion of its second lithium-ion battery like Toshiba PA3400U-1BRS Battery, Toshiba PA3420U-1BAC Battery, Toshiba PA3420U-1BAS Battery, Toshiba PA3420U-1BRS Battery, Toshiba PA3421U-1BRS Battery, Toshiba PA3450U-1BRS Battery,Toshiba PA3451U-1BRS Battery, Toshiba PA3457U-1BRS Battery, Toshiba PA3465U-1BRS Battery, Toshiba PA3475U-1BRS Battery, Toshiba PA3476U-1BRS Battery, Toshiba PA3478U-1BRS Battery factory.
Toshiba will start mass-producing its rechargeable SCiB (Super Charge ion Battery) in February 2011 with an initial capacity to make 500,000 cells per month and it plans to double that by March 2012. Toshiba manufacturers its SCiB at another facility in central Japan, which has a monthly capacity of 150,000 cells.
In April Honda Motor Co.10 (NYSE:HMC11) announced plans to adopt Toshiba’s SCiB for its electric motorcycles12 and Mitsubishi Corp13 (TYO:805814) is jointly developing battery systems containing the SCiB with Toshiba for electric vehicles.
Last week, billionaire Warren Buffett confirmed his support and investment in Chinese automaker BYD Co15. (HKG: 121116), announcing the company will be a leader in electric cars. The carmaker is currently facing challenges ahead as it tries to address falling sales, as it slashed its 2010 sales outlook by 25 percent to 600,000 vehicles from 800,000 on Aug. 4. The fabled oracle of Omaha said, “BYD is a young and promising company experiencing dynamic growth. BYD will play a leading role in the future.” Berkshire Hathaway owns 10 percent of the automaker through MidAmerican Energy Holdings, based in Des Moines, Iowa.
The company actually began as a battery maker, founded by China’s richest man, Wang Chuanfu, and entered the automobile market in 2003 mass producing the world’s first plug-in hybrid five years later. The carmaker plans to start selling the E6 electric car in the U.S. this year and in Europe next year. The E6 will take six hours for a full charge and will run for more than 300 kilometers per charge in cruising mode.
BYD is adding electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids as rivals such as General Motors17 and Nissan18 plan to introduce battery-powered models in China19. The country, the world’s biggest polluter, is offering buyer incentives for fuel-efficient vehicles to help cut emissions.
In June, the government20 said it would offer as much as $7,400 towards the purchase of plug-in hybrid models and up to 60,000 yuan for vehicles that run only on batteries in five Chinese cities on a trial basis. The National Development and Reform Commission, China’s top economic planner has announced the country may subsidize purchases of at least 4 million energy-efficient vehicles by 2012.

Toshiba limited edition OLED
Welcome to a Laptop Battery specialist of the Toshiba Laptop Battery
Toshiba has come up with a special OLED lamp designed for emergencies like the quake-stricken areas of Japan. Powered by four AAA batteries or a rechargeable pack that can be changed by solar or USB, it produces 53 lumens of light at 100% and can last two hours on the AAA batteries, twenty if you lower the brightness, and even more is you use the battery pack. Here is where one of the strengths of LED outshines regular light bulbs.

The new Satellite P700 Series consumer notebooks is a mid-range product line that features the new “FusionX2” texture, a pretty cool design experiment from Toshiba (see the close up picture after the jump). The P700 series offers more features and better performance than the new L700 Series, it is designed for performance and entertainment. Featuring either the second-gen Intel Core i3, i5 or i7 processors (some configurations get the NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M) or the new AMD APU A6-3400M with discreet-class GPU, the Satellite P700 series is equipped with harman/kardon speakers with sound enhancements from Dolby and Waves Audio. I listened to music and to a game, and I can tell that the sound is pretty good.
The Satellite P745, P755/P755 3D and P775 laptops feature 14-inch, 15.6-inch and 17.3-inch diagonal HD TruBrite LED backlit screens, respectively.
If you’re thinking of picking up one of these lamps for yourself, it looks like you won’t be able to. Toshiba is only making 100 of these lamps and they’re all reserved for disaster victims. You’ll probably have to wait for the whole disaster issue to blow over, and hope somebody is kind enough to auction one of these lamps off on eBay. But then again, a bright OLED panel, high-capacity battery like Toshiba PA3692U-1BAS Battery, Toshiba PA3692U-1BRS Battery, Toshiba PA3727U-1BRS Battery, Toshiba PA3728U-1BRS Battery, Toshiba PA3729U-1BAS Battery, Toshiba PA3729U-1BRS Battery,Toshiba PA3732U-1BAS Battery, Toshiba PABAS069 Battery, Toshiba PABAS081 Battery, Toshiba PABAS098 Battery, Toshiba PABAS099 Battery, Toshiba PABAS121 Battery pack that can be recharged by solar power – don’t expect them to be cheap. Folks still interested in donating to the disaster relief fund can do so here.

The news release has demonstrated support in the market with the share price climbing over 21 percent this week from $1.22 on Monday to finish at the current valuation of $1.48.
Last Friday, Salares Lithium Inc.22 (TSX-V: LIT23) reported additional exploration activities underway at its Salares 7 project24 in Chile. The company has now staked additional concessions to cover an extra 21.3 square kilometers of ground bringing the total land to approximately 117.9 square kilometers. The property increase developments follow last month’s positive results from the company’s first phase transient electromagnetic survey completed on Salar de la Isla and Salar de las Parinas. The Chief Executive Officer, Todd Hilditch, was pleased with the announcement, “A portion of the interpreted brine bearing horizon identified as probable and possible brines by Geodatos encompasses areas beyond the salar boundaries and as such the additional ground staked ensures that we can drill test / sample those horizons from within our own concession group”. Share prices for Salares began Friday’s trading session at $1.05 and traded higher on the news for an 11 percent gain to finish today’s session at $1.16.

Toshiba Ready Fuel-Cell Attack on e-batteries.co.uk

recommend: http://www.e-batteries.co.uk/
Welcome to a Laptop Battery specialist of the Toshiba Laptop Battery
At Decembers Eco-Products 2003 show, Hitachi announced its entry into the race to obsolete the battery. The company is now one of two major mobile technology vendors racing to ensure the battery is obsolete as a power source for portable computers long before this decade is over.
Battery technology has languished in the face of laptop and handheld computers rapid advancement. Power-conservation efforts have resulted in laptop-battery life that ranges from about two hours (for models equipped with desktop processors) to 7 hours (for IBMs Centrino-based T-series laptops), but we are still a long way away from being truly wireless. PDAs showed promise—Palms initial handheld computers lasted up to a week—but as performance demands rise and power-hungry wireless technologies expand, handheld computers are quickly dropping to the top of the laptop range for battery such as Toshiba Tecra A7 Battery, Toshiba Tecra A9 Battery, Toshiba Tecra L2 Battery,Toshiba Tecra M1 Battery, Toshiba Tecra M2 Battery, Toshiba Tecra M3 Battery, Toshiba Tecra M4 Battery, Toshiba Tecra M5 Battery, Toshiba Tecra M5L Battery, Toshiba Tecra M6 Battery, Toshiba Tecra M9 Battery, Toshiba Tecra R10 Battery life.
The industry needs a change, and it needs it quickly—particularly for emerging platforms like modular PCs; tablet computers; and hand held media players (youll hear more about these at Januarys CES in Las Vegas), all of which will need battery life measured in days, rather then hours, to meet their full market potential.
Fuel cells are currently considered to be the fix for this problem. Basically little solid-state generators that run on diluted alcohol, these ultra-small machines address the battery issue by replacing or supplementing these batteries. Representing a lower fire hazard then the lithium-ion batteries currently in laptops, this technology has had three major problems to overcome.
The first is size. Until recently, a fuel-cell generator has been too big to use in a portable device. However, advancements by Hitachi and Toshiba have dropped the size down to a point where the cell can be about the size of an AA battery for handheld devices and about the size of an extended battery for laptops.
The second hurdle has been the dilution of the fuel itself. The FAA in particular has been nervous about the problems associated with a flammable liquid in planes, and coming up with a fuel mixture that satisfies their concerns while providing an adequately powerful source of energy has until lately been elusive. Right now, the industry is working with mix of about 20 percent alcohol to water but wants 30 percent or better to meet performance goals.
Finally, the devices have simply been too expensive. While they will never be as inexpensive as batteries, they need to drop to a level that people will be willing to pay.
One nice thing about these devices is that they are relatively environmentally friendly. Their "exhaust" is water and carbon dioxide, and some designs (like Toshibas) are endothermic. (In other words, the harder the device works, the colder it gets). If you take into account the heat problems with which laptop and modular computer makers are struggling today, this technology could have the unique ability to address one problem (overheating) while it also addresses the need for portable power.
When these products hit in 2005, expect them to come in two forms: internal, which replace or supplement the battery technologies used today; and external, which can serve as a power source for devices that were not designed for fuel cells at all. Hitachi is leading with the smaller devices and Toshiba with the larger; both plan to have product market-ready in 2005. (There are other firms I havent mentioned that are also clearly in this race.)
Im looking forward to asking the flight attendant for two shots of vodka: one for me and one for my laptop computer. (A laptop thats able to drink me under the table is an interesting concept we will have to explore during New Years celebrations.)
